These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the ChalkTalk Football Studio app ("ChalkTalk", "we", "our"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Who can use ChalkTalk
ChalkTalk is intended for football coaches, players, and staff. If a user is under 13, a coach, parent, or guardian must set up and manage the account and accept these Terms on their behalf. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account.
Teams and invite codes
- A coach can create a team and generate an invite code. Invite codes are valid for a limited time (24 hours) and are meant only for people you intend to add to your team.
- You agree not to share invite codes with people outside your organization. The team admin controls membership and what content players can see, and may remove members.
Subscriptions and billing
- ChalkTalk offers optional team subscriptions purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase. When a coach or school subscribes, the whole team is unlocked; players and assistant coaches do not pay.
- Plans include a Monthly ($50/month) and Yearly ($550/year) auto-renewable subscription, and a Season Pass ($225 for 5 months) that is a one-time purchase and does not auto-renew.
- Auto-renewable subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings.
- Purchases, refunds, and billing are handled by Apple under Apple's terms; we do not process payments or store payment details. Refunds are subject to Apple's policies.
- If a subscription lapses, your content is not deleted — content beyond the free limits is locked until you re-subscribe.
Your content
- You keep ownership of the content you create or upload (plays, formations, film, logos, notes, and depth-chart data). You grant us permission to store, process, and share that content with members of your own team so the app can function.
- You are responsible for the content you upload and confirm you have the right to use it — including any logos, images, or game/practice film. Do not upload content that infringes others' rights or that you are not authorized to share.
Playbook AI
Playbook AI uses a third-party AI service (Anthropic) to convert a photo of a play into an editable digital play. AI results may be incomplete or inaccurate and should be reviewed and corrected by a coach before use. Free plans include a limited number of AI reads.
Acceptable use
- Use ChalkTalk only for lawful, football-related purposes.
- Do not misuse the service, attempt to breach security, resell access, or use the app to store or share unlawful content.
Termination
You may stop using ChalkTalk at any time and can delete your account in the app (Profile & Team → Delete my account). We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated. Deleting a team admin account also removes that team and the content shared to it.
Disclaimer & limitation of liability
ChalkTalk is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
