ChalkTalk Privacy Policy

ChalkTalk ("we", "our", the "app") is a football play-design and team-collaboration app. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain.

Who this is for

ChalkTalk is intended for coaches and players. If a player is under 13, a coach, parent, or guardian should set up and manage the account on their behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without such involvement.

Information we collect

• Account info — your name, email address, role (coach or player), and password. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never stored by us in readable form.
• Team info — team name, school name, mascot, school logo you upload, invite codes, team membership, and permission settings.
• Content you create — plays, formations, playbook folders, depth-chart entries, notes, and film (video) you upload.
• Player details you add — optional info like jersey number and position.
• Subscription status — if your team subscribes, we store which plan your team has and when it expires, so we can unlock features for your team. Payment is processed by Apple; we never receive or store your payment card details.

How your information is used

• To provide the app: sign-in, saving your work, and syncing plays, film, and team info across the devices of members on your team.
• To enforce the access you choose (for example, whether players can view certain plays or film).
• To keep the service secure and working properly.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Where your data is stored

Account, team, play, and film data is stored using Supabase (database and file storage) on our behalf. Some data (such as drafts and cached content) is also stored locally on your device.

Playbook AI

The optional "Playbook AI" feature lets you photograph a play (or a sheet of plays) so it can be turned into an editable digital play. When you tap to read a play, the photo you choose is sent — through our secure server — to Anthropic (the Claude API), which reads the image and returns the play. Photos are transmitted only when you use this feature, are used only to generate the play, and are not used for advertising. We keep a simple count of how many reads your account has used (to apply free-plan limits). Please review Anthropic's privacy terms before using this feature.

Subscriptions

ChalkTalk offers optional team subscriptions purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase. When a coach or school subscribes, we store the team's plan and expiration date so the whole team is unlocked. All billing is handled by Apple under your Apple Account — we do not see or store your payment information. See our Terms of Use for subscription details.

Sharing

Content you create is shared only with members of your own team, according to the permissions your team's coach/admin sets. We share data with service providers (Supabase, and Anthropic if you use Playbook AI) solely to operate the app, and when required by law.

Your choices & account deletion

• Delete your account anytime in the app: Profile & Team → Delete my account. This permanently removes your profile. If you are the team admin, deleting your account also removes your team and the plays and film shared to it. This cannot be undone.
• You can sign out at any time, edit your profile and team info, and control what players can see.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your associated data is removed as described above.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections and access rules that restrict data to your own team. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
